DJ NgaiNgai is originally from New York and came to Tokyo in 2006. He started playing at small events around Shibuya and in 2007, he landed his first residency at Roppongi’s notorious after-hours club, Odeon. While at Odeon, he quickly gained a reputation for his versatility and his high-energy sets. After building the club up to the top of the after-hours party scene, he left Odeon in 2009 to go freelance.
He is a co-founder of the Tokyo-based DJ group BeatForce and headlines the annual “Unity” beach festival in Okinawa. DJ NgaiNgai continued to branch out from the nightlife world and in 2011, he became the first DJ in Japanese professional sports history when he was signed to be the official DJ for the Tokyo Apache basketball team.
DJ NgaiNgai believes that by bringing different types of music together, you can bring different types of PEOPLE together. He mixes between hip-hop, house, reggae, pop, rock, and jazz with a high-intensity performance style. He continues to perform at ageHa, Warehouse702, Desert Rose and other clubs all around Tokyo.
